Update Apple TV software

You’ll see a message on Apple TV when a software update is available. You can also check for updates, or set Apple TV to update automatically.

Check for updates. In Settings , go to System > Software Updates and select Check for Update. If an update is available, a message appears. Select “Download and Install” to start downloading. During the update process, don’t disconnect your Apple TV. The status light may flash slowly during the update process.

Set automatic updates. In Settings , go to System > Software Updates and select Update Automatically.
