Share Apple TV with multiple users

You can use separate Apple ID accounts for the following services on Apple TV:

  • iCloud: Photos

  • iTunes Store and App Store: iTunes movies and TV shows, Apple Music, and the App Store

  • Game Center: Game play with friends

You can enable different Apple IDs and passwords for iCloud, iTunes (and App Store) and Game Center. Only one Apple ID can be active for each service at a time.

Switch the account used to purchase movies, TV shows, and apps. In Settings Settings, go to Accounts > iTunes and App Store, then enter a new Apple ID.

If Family Sharing is enabled, you can see movies, TV shows, and apps purchased by other family members without switching accounts. See Family Sharing.

See another user’s purchased music. In Settings Settings, go to Accounts > iTunes and App Store and enter the other user’s Apple ID.

Change iCloud account. In Settings Settings, go to Accounts > iCloud and enter a new Apple ID.

Change Game Center account. In Settings Settings, go to Accounts > Game Center and enter a new Apple ID.

Switch between family member accounts. You can switch directly between family member iTunes accounts without reentering your Apple ID. In Settings Settings, go to Accounts > iTunes and App Store, then select the name of a family member in the list. You may need to enter the password for that family member’s account.
