Manage storage

Your Apple TV streams video and music, but it stores apps locally. The more apps you download to Apple TV, the more storage is used up. At some point you may get a warning that you’re running out of disk space. If so, you can remove apps to free up space.

Check the Apple TV storage levels. In Settings Settings, go to General > Manage Storage.

A list of the apps on your Apple TV shows how much space each item is using.

Delete apps to recover space. Highlight the trash icon for any item in the list and press the Touch surface. The app and all of its data are removed from the device.

You can also delete apps directly on the Home screen. See Customize the Home screen.

If you delete an app, you can download it again from the App Store without repurchasing it. For more about the App Store, see App Store at a glance.
